RUCK EVENTS AND TRAINING PLANS

48+ HOURS, 80+ MILES. THE TOUGHEST ENDURANCE EVENT IN THE WORLD. AVERAGE PASS RATE: < 2%

Selection is an individual event. Our Cadre will enforce a standard adopted from our roots in Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Those participants who do not meet the standard at any point will be performance dropped at our discretion. Selection begins with a gear inspection and PT test.

You must meet the PT test standards in order to be given the opportunity to continue to train. If you fail to pass any portion of the PT Test, you will not receive a refund and your experience will come to an end.

Your ruck must weigh minimum 45 lbs. at all times, not including water or food. We will weigh your ruck at the start of Selection. If your ruck does not weigh 45 lbs., you will be performance dropped. You will have access to our scale prior to the commencement of Selection.

SELECTION + TEAM

24+ HOURS, 40+ MILES. THE ULTIMATE TEAM EVENT. AVERAGE COMPLETION RATE: 50%

This is a test of your desire to overcome under conditions of significant physical and mental stress. There’s more weight, more miles, and no sleep which makes for a lot more time for the Cadre to push participants past their limits. Beatdowns are stupid, and GORUCK is never bootcamp. Heavy is, however, a significant undertaking and not for the faint of heart.

Twice the length of the original Tough Challenge means a full day of team building. Don't expect to sleep.

We challenge you to put your team before yourself. We teach you how to lead, how to follow, and how to overcome adversity together. And you get to keep these lessons with you for the rest of your life. This is the original GORUCK event, the one where we prove to you that you are capable of so much more than you ever thought possible when you work as a team. Earn the GORUCK Tough patch and you’ll find out that it’s a way of life and a community with some of the best people you could ever hope to meet.

GARAGE TOUGH

4-5 HOURS, 7-10 MILES. LIGHT = FUN ON A TEAM. AVERAGE COMPLETION RATE: 100%

Maybe you’re still not sure about GORUCK yet but you want to do something because everyone tells you how great the people are and that it’s worth it. They’re right by the way and welcome to GORUCK Light. It means lighter vibe, lighter loads and less time commitment, which means more time to party with your class after you’re done. Fun fact: never sign up and you’ll never know. But the average completion rate of those who show up is 100%. If you can do a 5K, you can earn the GORUCK Light patch.

Shorter time commitment, which means more time to party with your class after you’re done.

It's not nothing, but if you can do a 5K at a 5K pace then you can do this at a rucking pace.

GARAGE LIGHT

A SPECIAL FORCES RUCKING CHALLENGE

6 DISTANCES, 50+ CITIES WORLDWIDE

10K, 15K, 25K, 12MI, 26.2MI, 50MI

Rucking is the foundation of Special Forces training and the Star Course is the culminating exercise of Special Forces Selection. Your ruck is on your back, you're given your waypoints, and you have to meet the time standard if you want to pass. Go! says the Cadre — you plan your route and then you're off. There are no push-ups or smoke sessions, that’s not this event. It's just you, your rucksack, your team and the miles. And it’s not to be underestimated.

The GORUCK Star Course honors our roots in Special Forces and adds a team dynamic so you can share the experience together (also a common thing in SF). Those who successfully pass will earn the Star Course patch. It will never be for sale.

STAR COURSE

There will come a time when you don't have an event on the calendar, or your event is too far out to start your training program. Or after your big event after you take a few weeks off and are ready to come back and get your body ready to start the next training plan. That's where this training plan comes in. Designed to test you week 1 and retest week 10 to quantify your progress. Built in progression for broad general physical preparedness, this plan will keep in a continuous state of readiness.
